information on asbestosis

Asbestosis is one of the most serious diseases caused by asbestos exposure. The first symptoms of this disease may not occur until many years after exposure to asbestos materials. In fact, it often takes 20 years or more before any effects of the disease will be noticed.

These are the common symptoms of asbestosis:

  • shortness of breath
  • persistent cough
  • chest pain
  • loss of appetite

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you should immediately contact your physician for an evaluation.
